Yowzah! (July 8, 2005)

(Week 5)

This radio adventure is turning out much better than I thought it would. I am so used to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, but I haven't stepped on that particular banana peel yet. And now we have Continuous Streaming at Live 365! I am pleasantly astonished. I played an extra impromptu hour Friday (availiable on the web at the above link) but I am too tired (or too lazy) to reconstruct that miscellany. Here is what I played during the two hours of Radiola proper with a slight format difference--artist, then selection, then source (if available)--and no catalogue numbers (you guys gotta meet me halfway here!):

The Chocolate Dandies -- Stardust -- Jazz Bands 1926-1930 (Historical LP)
Charles W. Hamp -- Heigh Ho, Ev'rybody (THEME) -- Columbia 78
Ted Weems and his Orch. -- Climbing Up the Ladder of Love -- Marvelous (Memphis Archives CD)
Danny Altier and his Orch. -- I'm Sorry Sally -- The Chicago Hot Bands (Timeless CD)
Frankie Trumbauer and his Orch. (Irving Kaufman, vocal) -- I'm Wondering Who -- Bix Beiderbecke Vol. 1 (Columbia CD)

Thank you. I have been looking for "No Regrets" since 1989. I heard the album, "Those wonderful Thirties" back then and have really been looking for it for 20 years. Unbelievable.
