I've heard of 'feckless;' in fact, it's a word I use frequently--about others. And 'insouciant' is one of the main struts in my mental monkeybars. But I have never heard them combined into one expression until I listened to your current show. Feckless insouciance. It suggests a serenity unwarranted by any facts, a bland incompetence basking in its own unmerited high self-esteem. I can get behind that, but don't ask me to push!

Chris,

No need to push. The fecklessly insouciant know that gravity (or something) will kick in eventually.

But this is something I've noticed is the prevailing attitude among those I encounter. I'm just glad to have found the right words to describe it.

Thanks,
Andy
