(This is a fine playlist!) I came here while looking for information about Carl Ravell. I believe his beautiful "So Rare" 1937 may have been the original recorded version of that song. (Written by Jack Sharpe & Jerry Herst, much recorded by others, but a late career hit for Jimmy Dorsey, in 1957.) I can't find anything about Ravell. You mentioned the name Ravassa(?). Was that Ravell's real name?
