I agree thematic shows give audiences more consistency and help a program flow....sadly, most PD's think a computer spitting out the same playlists over and over with a corebook they last updated in the early 90's constitutes "programming".....
Since I live in California's Capitol, I'm thinking of meandering down to the State offices and see if I can't con a legislator or three to sponsor an amendment to our hunting laws, allowing us to bag up to three radio programming consultants a season....

That's why I love laissez-faire, free-form College Radio. If a programming consultant turned up, I'd start wearing garlic.
