"Listening Out" September 24, 2010

(Week 226)

This RADIOLA! admits its growing disenchantment with radio, per se. On a more positive note, we celebrate Bryan Wright's recordings of Bix Beiderbecke's piano solos on brand new 78 RPM discs.

Well, I hope you don't stop all together- love your show and it's one of the few places to hear the gazillions of 78's that will never make it to cd. The new Bix 78's look pretty cool to say the least.

Thanks.

I'm not stopping if I can help it. In fact, the upcoming show will be on time. There were just so many things going on in the week that I was preparing this program that it could not possibly have been done sooner.

I can't stop. There are just too many records left unplayed.

Yes, thanks Andy for your weekly doze of great music, and thanks for all these duets you put this weeks' show! Harmony groups and duets are very neglected part of 1920's/early 30's music. I was wondering whether you could include Brox Sisters' version of "Pretty Cindrella' one of your shows in the future? I just love their rendition to it.
