"I'm Nobody--Who Are You?" (January 20, 2006)

(Week 25)

This broadcast is dedicated to and features great jazz and hot dance recordings by those who passed through obscurity on their way to oblivion. The name of the bandleader might be known, or perhaps that of the vocalist, but the majority of these musicians remain anonymous. Alternating with the sets of unattributed pieces are songs by known performers about Nobody, Somebody, or Whomever. The star of this presentation (you might say its Lodestar) is the Ocarina soloist we all know and love.

The show begins tonight at 7:00 EST on WHCL-FM 88.7. Here is the tentative playlist:

So nice to see my uncle's band on your play list. My uncle is Zackie Moore - he married my dad's sister. He passed away when I was 10, so that would be about 28 years ago. His wife, Vesta, only passed away a couple of years ago). Thanks for allowing him to live on through playing his music - something I never knew about him until I was grown.
