The Jazz Appreciation Society of Syracuse will host a jam session from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 18, at McNamara’s Pub in Camillus. Admission is free and the public is welcome.

JASS was founded 38 years ago to promote New Orleans-style jazz in Central New York. The JASS jam sessions traditionally conclude with the tune “When the Saints Go Marchin’ In.”

Area musicians are invited to bring their instruments and sit in with the JASS rhythm section.

Others expected to perform include JASS founder and president emeritus, Dick Ames on cornet, JASS President Bobby Morris on trombone, Vice President Burt Dunlap on tuba and director Pat Carroll on cornet.

An electric piano will be provided, and jazz vocalists are encouraged to participate.

McNamara’s Pub is located at 5600 Newport Road between Route 5 and Route 695. Food and beverages will be available at the pub.

For JASS information, call 652-0547.
To contact McNamara’s, call 672-8872.

The Jazz Appreciation Society of Syracuse is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and presentation of traditional New Orleans jazz.
